FRANKFURT, Germany<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The 2026 series of meetings of\u00a0ISO\/TC96 (Cranes)<\/strong>\u00a0was recently held in Frankfurt, bringing together over 100 delegates from 16 member countries, including Germany, France, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Finland, Japan, and China.<\/p>\n

Mr. Shan Zenghai<\/strong>, Vice President and Chief Engineer of XCMG Machinery, led a team of technical experts to participate in the meetings, achieving breakthrough results on several key issues.<\/p>\n

Advancing International Standards for Mobile Cranes<\/h3>\n

During the sessions, Mr. Shan, as the convener of the Working Group on \u201cSafe Use of Mobile Cranes,\u201d reported on the progress of\u00a0ISO 12480\u20112 \u2013 Cranes \u2013 Safe use \u2013 Part 2: Mobile cranes<\/strong>, a standard initiated by China. The project was successfully advanced to the\u00a0DIS (Draft International Standard)<\/strong>\u00a0stage.<\/p>\n

XCMG technical experts also proposed a new work item for\u00a0ISO 9927\u20112 \u2013 Cranes \u2013 Inspections \u2013 Part 2: Mobile cranes<\/strong>, which drew close attention from delegates from various countries. In addition, they successfully pushed for the revision of\u00a0ISO 9927\u20111 \u2013 Cranes \u2013 Inspections \u2013 Part 1: General<\/strong>\u00a0and took on two new international standard revision tasks.<\/p>\n

These efforts represent XCMG\u2019s contribution to cutting\u2011edge crane technologies on behalf of the Chinese industry.<\/p>\n

A Growing Footprint in Global Standards<\/h3>\n

At this year\u2019s meetings, the Chinese delegation successfully advanced 14 ongoing ISO crane standards, proposed two new work items, and newly took on six international standards projects.<\/p>\n
